If volunteering at Wildgoose is of interest then read on to find out how to start. Our volunteers are usually placed within our groups of students, working alongside a tutor to help facilitate group activities and working with students to support them in completing tasks.
Our groups do tend to work in specific areas for the day, such as out on our reserve, animals, arts and crafts, horticulture, cookery, woodwork and lots more. We try to place volunteers with a group that matches their interest and plays to your strengths, you will be supported by our back office team so if you have any queries or requests during your time at Wildgoose you can be assured that we will do our best to support you in your role as Volunteer.
Our volunteer process is pretty straight forward and flows as such:
Expression of interest with application form
Informal discussion of aims and invite to site visit
DBS process initiated
Training issued for completion
Placed with group - First Day
Review meeting
Continuation of Volunteering placement
Where possible we will also try to offer training to our volunteers as and when we can in areas closely linked to Wildgoose Rural Training, such as Epilepsy, Autism, and area specific training (such as flora and fauna on our reserve).
