Registering for your DBS Certificate
DBS certificate provide us with a way to check that our staff and volunteers are able to work with our students in a safe manner. It checks for any criminal history or barring against your record that would prevent you from working with vulnerable people of any age. You must have a valid DBS certificate to volunteer at Wildgoose.
Using the link below, please enter all relevant information required in the application, once you have submitted this online can you let Ben (ben@wgrt.org) know and he will submit the ID side of it once your documentss have been received, this usually consists of driving license, passport, and 2 bills. Emailed scans of these documents are accepted.
Please find below the link to the DBS portal. When you access it please enter UB1233 for the organisation reference and leave the password section blank on the first page and click confirm, please choose enhanced DBS certificate if you have the option, and select voluntary for your role type.

Once you have recieved your DBS
When you receive the paper copy of your DBS please can you send Ben the certificate number whic can be found at the top right of your certificate as well as the date and he will register you for the update service.
As you are a volunteer this will be free and means that we won't have to go through the application and ID process each year to renew your certificate and it will automatically tick over.
This needs to be carried out within 21 days of receiving your certificate so the sooner you can get it to Ben for registration the better.
All of our volunteers must undertake training before starting at Wildgoose.
We require that volunteers are to have underaken Adult Safeguarding Training via our training partner NHSE before they are allowed to work on site. This training provides you with the skills to keep our students and yourself safe whilst working at Wildgoose. It will enable you to identify any safeguarding risks and inform you on how to raise these effectively in a care setting.
You have had your log in details sent to the email address you provided when initially registering with Wildgoose to volunteer. Using the details in this email you will need to sign in at https://portal.e-lfh.org.uk/ within 14 days of the email being sent. If you are looking to register after this date you will need to sign in using the "sign in" box and choose forgotten details to reset your password.
Once you have registered, sign in to the website and click on the SMT Icon in the middle of your screen, once the next page loads, please scroll down to the Safeguarding Adults 1 and Safeguarding Adults 2 section and complete both of these training courses. Once you have completed both of these please contact Ben (ben@wgrt.org) who will check they have been completed correctly and make a record of your pass date
