Volunteering provides you with the opportunity to learn something new, make new friends, contribute to society, explore new career paths, gain confidence, push yourself and do something that little bit special for the people and environment around you.
Wildgoose Rural Training offers all this and much more with the chance to gain new skills by supporting groups of our adults and young people in anything from animal care to pottery, car mechanics to conservation here on our 42 acre nature reserve and care farm. We pride ourselves by following the 3 principles of Permaculture, caring for the land, caring for the people and fair shares for all, offering a holistic approach to balanced living within the earths capacity which fosters a sense of harmony between individuals and the environment around them.
From the amazing work our staff and volunteers do with our students in a group and 1:1 setting enables our students gain new skills, nurture their independence and grow their confidence. On the weekend outside of the nesting season volunteers go out on our reserve and help build new habitats and ensure current ones persist and thrive.
And, on top of this is that the majority of our work takes place in the great outdoors, proven to as effective as meditation for its destressing qualities. There are just so many ways that Wildgoose offers rewarding opportunities for volunteers to partake in meaningful activities - what is not to love!.
